Hello to all. I am finally finished with all of my clinicals and my thesis is complete and defended. I’m home free now and all I have to do is study for the national certification. The next plan of action is to send off the applications needed for the Board of Nursing. As I was looking through the pages and pages of the application, something struck my eye! Nurse anesthetists and nurse midwives get a year to pass their national boards but the rest of us have to pass the boards immediately before we can work. I want to know how this rule got passed through with that type of wording? There are many more Family and Adult NPs who are trying get jobs than those categories? Based on how fast I can get this paperwork expedited, my job may be at stake. The doctor I signed the contract with expects me to start on June 4th. I hope to God that it happens. If not, I may be looking for another job!
Next post will include some of the interesting Google searches people have done that reach my site. Great idea from Kim at Emergiblog.
Oh well! At least I can get some much needed catching up to do with all of the great blogs that I want to read. See you in your comment sections!

I got the news a few weeks ago that I was going to be a grandma for the first time. Yes, I am too young, but I married very young as well. I will be 40 this year. Something told me not to announce the news when I first heard it. I got a premonition that it would not be a successful pregnancy. There was no particular reason why she should lose the baby. She’s healthy and young.
It was not to be. She lost the baby this morning. She was around 8-10 weeks along. I called her this morning to reassure her that she will someday become pregnant again but that now was not the right time for whatever reason. The powers that be made the decision and we can only wonder what the reasoning behind it was.
I can give my own reasons. She’s too young to have a baby. She’s only 19 and hasn’t really lived an adult life yet. They still live with his parents in a trailer that isn’t quite up to standards to raise a baby in. They haven’t been alone in their marriage to see what married life is really all about.
Most people would think that maybe it was for the best. Unfortunately, I tend to think so myself.
But it still hurts.
My mother in law had bacterial meningitis recently and was in ICU for a week and in the hospital for another one after having a seizure as a result of the disease. Please read the link article and be aware of the signs and symptoms. She’s doing well but had to be placed for rehab before she can come home.
A man is jailed for refusing to wear a mask while walking into a convenience store. He has been diagnosed with drug resistant tuberculosis. Does the confinement of this patient seem to be against his human rights? Doesn’t the safety of the masses rule out his individual rights?
This is hard choice. Read the article.
What’s your opinion?

Hello to all. I successfully defended my thesis on the 20th and am currently up at 1:30 in the morning trying to convert it to a PDF format so that I can submit it to the college for final format review. YIKES!
Great news on the home front! I finally signed a contract with a Neurology/Pain management doctor and will start sometime near the end of May after I pass the nurse practitioner exam.
For now, I am trying to finish up my clinical hours and be done with this whole process! Wish me luck!
My mother in law recently had a bout of bacterial meningitis. She is doing better but still in the hospital as we speak. She will be coming to live with us when she gets out. I will be working on getting her health back into shape. I hate to see her as sick as she is. She’s a great Ma!
